High Card
A single high-ranking card with no other combinations. The weakest hand in standard poker, but viable in Balatro with the right jokers (Hiker, +chips-per-card scaling).
Balatro extends standard poker with 13 distinct hand types. Each has its own base chips × mult, level-up gains and ideal joker support. This page is the source-of-truth reference — base numbers come straight from the game data and match the in-game "Run Info" panel.

A single high-ranking card with no other combinations. The weakest hand in standard poker, but viable in Balatro with the right jokers (Hiker, +chips-per-card scaling).
Two cards of the same rank. The most common scoring hand in Balatro, and a strong commit target for early ante.
Two distinct pairs of matching ranks. Doubles the scoring base of Pair and pairs with many synergies.
Three cards of the same rank. Solid mid-game scoring hand with several committed jokers.
Five consecutive ranks regardless of suit. Versatile because it doesn't require matching ranks or suits.
Five cards of the same suit. One of the most consistent scoring hands once the deck is suit-fixed.
Three of a kind + a pair. Combines two scoring patterns and pairs well with face-card / rank-specific jokers.
Four cards of the same rank — late-game power hand with strong base values.
Five consecutive ranks in the same suit. Massive base values (100c × 8m), the late-game payoff for committed flush/straight builds.
A Straight Flush that runs 10-J-Q-K-A in the same suit. Same scoring as Straight Flush in Balatro — the distinction is cosmetic.
Five cards of the same rank. Unlocked by adding duplicates to the deck (DNA, Hex). Insane base value, low-RNG when set up.
Full House where all five cards share one suit. Best-of-both-worlds hybrid.
Five matching cards (rank AND suit). The highest scoring hand in the game. Requires aggressive deck manipulation.
Every hand starts at level 1 in-game (which the calculator models as level 0 — same arithmetic, different label). Each Planet card you use levels up the matching hand once: +Chips and +Mult amounts vary per hand (see the table above).
Planet cards that match your most-played hand are the biggest multiplier on chips because they compound — leveling Pair from level 1 to level 10 turns its base 10c × 2m = 20 into 145c × 11m = 1595 before any joker bonus.
Vouchers like Telescope and Observatory shape Planet card RNG around your most-played hand, accelerating the level curve.
